Funerals - Celebrations of Life - Memorials - Interment of Ashes - Alternative Funerals
My Celebrations of Life (or memorials) celebrate the life of your special person in the way that feels most comfortable for you and your loved ones ♡
A Celebration of Life, or memorial, is a way for loved ones to celebrate their special person in a less traditional way, a short time after cremation or burial has taken place.
Many people choose to have a Celebration of Life, instead of a traditional funeral. This could be because their loved one asked for a traditional funeral not to take place following their death - perhaps they requested a 'direct to crematorium' arrangement, which does not include a funeral service.
Others choose a Celebration of Life in addition to a funeral, to remember and celebrate their loved one, after some time has passed. This could include interment of ashes, ash scattering, or just a beautiful gathering and memorial service.
The ceremony can be as traditional or as relaxed as you choose - it is important that the day captures the spirit of your special person, and honours them in a fitting way.
The ceremony can be anywhere that you choose - perhaps there is a place that your special person loved to spend their time, or which holds special memories of them? Somewhere which brings a feeling of comfort, or a sense of celebration?
It can include music, readings, performances and more - what would your special person have chosen? ♡
♥︎ Supportive conversations with you and your loved ones, to find out all about your special person and how you would like to celebrate and remember their life.
♥︎ A bespoke ceremony which celebrates your special person and feels authentic for you – including personalised rituals and any spiritual beliefs that you many have, in a way which feels comfortable and cosy. Optional rituals could include a flower ceremony or a memory box.
♥︎ Guidance in choosing any music or readings that you would like to include.
♥︎ Regular check-ins before your ceremony (via phone, email or WhatsApp) to make sure that the ceremony captures and celebrates your person’s life in a way which feels comfortable and uplifting.
♥︎ Assistance in making your ceremony accessible for yourself and your guests – this might include reworking rituals or cultural traditions or ensuring a perfect, seamless experience for Disabled couples and guests, and people who require tailored assistance.
♥︎ A venue or location visit or a conversation with venue staff, to check everything is in order before the ceremony.
♥︎ Printed and digital copies of the story of their life, as included in the ceremony.
♥︎ A beautiful Celebration of Life to remember, honour and celebrate your special person.
If you would prefer a funeral, and you are based in Greater Manchester, or West Yorkshire, I would be honoured to write and deliver this for your special person.
If you feel like I am the right fit, please pass on my details on to your funeral director, and they will get in touch.
